Underwater dreams and expressions of earthquakes and tectonic plates. The middle painting came from a-little-too-suddenly waking up to the urgency of a ringing telephone, and not knowing the words coming out of my mouth, or how I was managing to be standing up while the room was spinning at such a speed. Where am I? Is it 4:00 in the morning or 4:00 in the afternoon? And then... I can paint an abstraction as well as the best of them, as a challenge and a reaction to some of my schooling.
In these paintings you can clearly see my natural hand (which every artist has). Here is the bridge between the Boston paintings and my very latest abstracted landscape work.
