Suddenly, I was gone. New Mexico receded into the rear view mirror on the sort of impulse better left for younger days. Now, this move to Pennsylvania was not my doing. I was a little restless at the time, felt the pull of the north, but not so much to move on my own just yet, and this was certainly not what I had in mind.
The reality was so very different from the map. I moved there because I was in a significant relationship at the time. I became trapped and grew beyond restless. Meanwhile, Beach Moose is a self-portrait of sorts. What am I doing here? You make the best with what you’ve got and you keep painting.
